Our Theme

"A Church Determined to Worship God in Spirit and in Truth” John 4:23-24
John 4:23-24 was chosen as our church theme so that we might understand the full essence of Ministry.
God does not accept just anything from His people. God's worship has standards. In John Chapter 4, Jesus said a day is coming when the people would not just worship because of what they could get from God. They would know Him, be thankful unto Him and worship Him in "Spirit and in Truth." Today, many people still have not grown to that level of worship. They are here to get something; whereas a worshipper is here to bless. The worshipper says, "I will bless the Lord at all times..." The mandate or standard in the latter Church is to be a worshipper.
As a congregation, we are committed to worshipping God in "Spirit and in Truth." We are working to erase the mentality that anything and everything is acceptable unto God. We are to be totally focused on Him.
Our Logo

First Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church chose the white dove as its Ministry Logo because the dove represents the Holy Spirit. The dove is also a symbol of peace.
The Holy Spirit makes its first appearance in the New Testament in the form of a dove descending upon Jesus at His baptism. “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. And lo a voice from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:16-17).
Our Colors

The First Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church has adopted purple, gold, and white as its ministry colors.
Although the Bible contains relatively few references to individual colors, their symbolic associations are theologically significant. Colors usually symbolize redemptive and eschatological themes. The Bible is, however, silent on whether the colors used in the tabernacle, temple, and priestly garments held symbolic meaning..
Purple
An expensive dye, purple represents wealth and royalty. (Judges 8:26; Esther 8:15; Daniel 5:17,16,29; Luke 16:19). For this reason, idols were adorned in purple (Jeremiah 10:9). The purple dress of the harlot symbolized Roman imperial rank (Revelation 17:4; 18:16,26). Before His crucifixion, Jesus was robed in purple in mockery of Him as "king of the Jews" (Mark 15:17,20; John 19:2,5; Matthew 27:28, "scarlet robe"). Garments of purple suitably clothed a wife of noble character (Proverbs 31:22).
Gold
There are literally hundreds of references to the color gold in the Bible. Gold is a precious metal and was probably the most precious in biblical days. Gold was used to make crowns for kings (Exodus 37:2); as an offering to the Lord (Exodus 35:22); as jewelry (Exodus 12:25).
White
Signifies purity and holiness. It depicts complete forgiveness of sin. Believers' robes are washed pure white through the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 7:9,13,14; 19:13,14). David and Israel's bloodguilt would be fully removed, leaving them whiter than snow/wool (Psalms 51:7; Isaiah 1:18). It represents the absolute moral purity of God (Daniel 7:9), Christ (Revelation 1:14; Mark 9:3), angels (Mark 16:5; Acts 1:10), and believers (Revelation 2:17; 3:4,5; 4:4), and thus of the divine judgment of God (20:11) and Christ (14:14). It indicates the certainty of God's conquest and victory over evil (Zech. 6:3,6; Rev. 6:2; 19:11).
