BISHOP OSCAR E. BROWN

Bishop Oscar E. Brown is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. He is the 6th child of the late Deacon Ulysses and the late Deaconess Hallie Mae Brown. His Christian foundation was formed at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Baltimore under the pastorate of the late Reverend Arthur J. Benn. Bishop Brown received and accepted his call to the preaching ministry in October, 1981 while at Mt. Moriah. He moved his membership to the New Psalmist Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Walter Scott Thomas and on September 28, 1986 was ordained into the preaching ministry.

Also in September 1986, then Rev. Oscar E. Brown was called to pastor the First Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church. In 1993, he received a Bachelor’s Degree from Morgan State University in Religious Studies. In May 1996, he earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Howard University School of Divinity. Later in 1996, then Overseer Brown was consecrated a Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship under the leadership of Presiding Prelate Bishop Paul S. Morton.
Bishop Brown’s pastorate has been fruitfully and spiritually rewarding. Upon his arrival at First Mt. Olive, this great ministry was comprised of approximately 500 members. Under Bishop Brown’s leadership, First Mt. Olive’s membership has increased to over 2,500 active members. There are over fifty ministries serving the church and the community; some of which target drug abuse, adult literacy, women’s issues, men’s issues, youth and young adult services and community outreach.

Bishop Brown is married to the former Jacqueline Boyd of Baltimore, Maryland. He describes his wife as, "A major inspiration to him and to the Church." They are the proud parents of two lovely daughters; Breahna Simone and Victoria Elise.
Bishop Brown's love and concern for mankind, along with his obedience, dedication and commitment to the ministry allows him to preach under the strong anointing of God.
